I’ve been reading about mental health and researching my own issues for years now but for some reason I’ve always gravitated towards the more formal sources of information rather than following the stories of individuals.
I’m not quite sure why this is. I think maybe it is at least in part because it is less painful to read advice than personal experiences. Anyway, I figure that if I want to become part of the mental health blogging community I need to start reading other peoples stories and trying to figure out how I can contribute.
As a starting point, I did a search for “best mental health blogs” which returned the result below from blurt (Who I need to add to the mental health support services in the sidebar!)
Being lazy, I went to the most prominent result and found an awesome list which you can find here
I am still working through them all but Seaneen’s blog really stood out to me. I really like her style and have a ton of archived posts to still go through.
I particularly liked this podcast that she did earlier this year with Mark Brown on the Faff zone. It really resonated with me.
You can find Seaneen on twitter here
And Mark here
As I work through reading all the others and look for other bloggers that are doing great work in the field I’ll post more to this category 🙂
