Something I’ve noticed over the years is that the state of how clean and tidy the environment I am in ties in well with my mood.
When I am in a shitty mood, the house is a complete tip and there is about a weeks worth of washing up to do.
When I am in a good mood, the house is all clean and shiny
I am not sure whether this is a case of correlation or causation (a conundrum my SEO friends will be all to familiar with.)
Is the house tidy and clean because I am in a good mood or am I in a good mood because the house is clean and tidy?
Something I can say for certain is I am always in a better mood when I am away from home and staying somewhere cleanliness is kind of obligatory (i.e a decent hotel) or with friends or family who aren’t blessed with so many mental mood swings. Again that could be a false positive, maybe it’s just that at the times when we go away, I am in a better frame of mind….
Maybe it’s as simple as the process of cleaning the house puts me in a good mood because it allows me to switch off.
Anyway, this is the end of today’s mental ramble 🙂
